Product Manager

Job description

Compelson has been a pioneer in mobile forensics since 1991. We are looking for an experienced Product Manager with background in forensics to help steer the development of our flagship product, MOBILedit. This isn’t just another software tool. It’s used by forensic experts, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies worldwide to uncover critical evidence.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying what our product needs next and turning those needs into features that deliver real value to forensic professionals. You will work closely with our development, sales and technical support teams, combining technical possibilities, customer feedback and market needs into a clear product direction.

What you’ll do

  • Shape new features: Identify opportunities for new functionality and turn them into well-defined product features together with development.

  • Own the backlog: You manage and prioritize the backlog. You decide what gets built next and why.

  • Shape the roadmap: Plan releases, define priorities, and keep a clear view of where the product is heading.

  • Bridge business and engineering: Translate real-world needs into clear, actionable tasks for developers. Make sure both sides understand each other.

  • Keep development on track: Work closely with the Software Development Team Lead and CEO to ensure tasks are well-defined and priorities are clear.

  • Focus on impact: Every feature should have a clear purpose. If it doesn’t bring value to the end user, it doesn’t get built.

  • Coordinate across teams: Act as the connection point between business, development and technical support.

What we expect

  • Digital forensics experience: You have professional experience or strong practical knowledge of digital forensics, ideally mobile device forensics.

  • Technical understanding: You don’t need to be a developer, but you must understand how software is built and be comfortable discussing technical topics.

  • Strong prioritization skills: You can make decisions. You know how to balance short-term needs with long-term direction.

  • Organizational skills: You keep structured backlogs, priorities, and releases.

  • Ownership mindset: You don’t wait for instructions. You see problems and solve them.

What we offer

  • Real impact: You will directly influence a product used by law enforcement agencies worldwide.

  • Lean team: No corporate layers. Fast decisions, direct communication.

  • Room to shape things: You won’t just follow processes. You’ll help define them.

  • Compensation: Competitive salary and performance-based bonus.

If you’re looking for a role where you just “manage tickets”, this isn’t it. We’re looking for someone who understands the forensic world, sees where the product can go next and can turn those ideas into features that make a real difference. 💙
